Anzac Day....Lest We Forget

LEST WE FORGET

This afternoon I am off to visit a friend.
We plan to watch a DVD and do some stitching.

I have received the thread I have been waiting on and I'm working
on finishing the stitcheries for my
Once Upon A Stitchery quilt.

I cut the fabrics for this quilt on the weekend so I'm all ready to go
once the stitcheries are complete :)

Started the new job on Monday and
everything is going really well so far :)

Happy stitching

Finishes from Earlier in the Year

Those of you who had followed my previous blog would remember
some progress shots of this quilt which I started....
....ooohhhhh....a couple of years ago????
Well.....I finally finished it and had it quilted.
I had some difficulty with the borders as I had bought the tractor fabric
some time ago and did not have enough!!
Oh no!!
Lots of head scratching...then I decided to make 8 more star blocks
and it came together as you see it now.

My grandchildren....Tai and Thian love it!
They love to 'find' the different animals and Tai counts them etc.
Lots of work in it but well worth it when you see the kids interaction with it

Below is the floor quilt I made for Thian.
You can see it is well loved!

My gorgeous grandchildren love to 'hide' under their quilts and
play.....we always have to 'find' them.....lots of giggles and squeals of delight....lol....

It is lovely to see the quilts well loved and used in my DS and DIL home.

I am still working away on the final 6 stitcheries of the Once Upon a Time quilt.
I have 5 completed except for the borders because I ran out of the thread
....which I have now received, so back to the grindstone.....

My newest granddaughter is progressing very well...
learning to suck on a bottle at present :)

Enjoy your day and happy stitching

Amazing Week!!

I have had the most wonderful week!
It started off (Tuesday) a bit stressful with an early morning call from our SIL.
Our daughter had delivered a baby girl 6.5 weeks early!!
Of course I was frantic at first but was quickly reassured that both were doing exceptionally well!
Thank you God!

I quickly pulled myself together and rushed off to Canberra
to welcome the new addition and to see for myself that all was well.

This is what I found......

I love her name....but I love our beautiful new granddaughter more...

Mummy, Daddy and Zoe...... isn't the love so obvious :)
Zoe came into the world in a big hurry
weighing 4lb 9oz (very good weight considering),
cried right away and has not needed oxygen at all,
being tube fed as she cannot suck yet.

Isn't she just perfect!
She is 10 hours old in these photos.

My DD has been discharged but Zoe will remain in the special care nursery
for approximately 3 weeks - until she is sucking well enough.

Zoe is DD and SIL's first child so living between the hospital and home
will be slightly easier than if they had another one at home.

I cleaned and washed and cooked for them for several days
and will return in about a week to do more of the same,
so they can spend all their time with Zoe.

We are so very blessed!

I have more stitching to show next time

Thanks for stopping by
and happy stitching

My Easter Weekend

You know it really is true......Time flies when you're having fun!!

We have had a wonderful weekend filled with catching up with family, laughing, eating, playing cards, a gorgeous wedding and more of the same :)

Guess you could say we are a bit weary now but it is more than worth it to make more precious memories with family.

Below are a couple of photos of the wedding of our niece Cherie and her new husband Phil.

The wedding was held a the Lazy River Estate winery on the banks of the Macquarie River.
The weather was perfect and it was a beautiful wedding - Cherie was the happiest bride - laughing and smiling all day and evening :)

Couldn't resist sharing this photo of my gorgeous grandchildren Thian and Tai on Easter Sunday morning enjoying their back yard Easter Egg hunt on a cool Canberra morning.

Love them to the moon and back!!
